As part of reforms that followed after the UAE implemented the advanced visa system, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) hiked the fees on all its services.

You will now have to pay an additional AED 100 when seeking services such as applying for an Emirates ID, residence visa, or uae visit visa through the official e-services platform https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae.

This article discusses what you should understand about this UAE increased visa service fee and what we know so far.

Services are Completely Exempt From Increased Fees

Even though ICP increased the service fee on all its services, it is important to note the services which are subject to increase in price are under the item ‘Smart Services and not all services because the below services are expected from the service fee increase:

  1. Citizens services (passports, issuance, renewal, and replacement of an identity card for a citizen, family book services)
  2. Services provided by ICP service centers

Accessing ICP Services Through a Typing Center

The increased fee imposed by ICP when accessing smart service is applicable even at the trying center because the centers are registered with ICP.

Therefore, to get all ICP smart service fees, such as residency visa, tourist visa, and Emirates ID, you will have to pay the increased fee of AED 100. The increased service fee is also applicable when paying the overstaying fines or obtaining a UAE visa from outside the country.

It is important to note that the price hike applies no matter where you are in UAE, whether in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, or Umm Al Quwain.
