The Sharjah Tourist Visa

The Emirate of Sharjah, named the Cultural Capital of the Arab world by UNESCO, is home to the third largest city, Sharjah city, in the UAE.

Sharjah is a popular destination especially for tourists with families.

A Sharjah tourist visa will allow you to travel all around the other emirates and enjoy the magical Arabian thrills and adventure that the UAE has to offer. This visa is similar to other types of visas issued within the UAE.

Here, Arabiers breaks down the Sharjah Tourist Visa to inform you about everything you need to know.

Sharjah Visa Types and Prices

All visitors arriving in Sharjah must obtain a visa to enter Sharjah.

There are two main types of visas; the on-arrival visa and the prepaid visa.

On-arrival Visa

The UAE maintains bilateral agreements with select countries. To encourage tourist dollars and sterling spending in the UAE, travelers holding passports from the above select countries are welcomed to the UAE and granted free of charge on-arrival visas.

Wish to know more about the on-arrival visa in the UAE? Visit our page to find out if you are eligible to travel to Sharjah with an on arrival visa.

If the passport you carry is eligible for an on-arrival visa, upon entry into Sharjah or any other emirate, you simply get your on-arrival visa stamped in your passport.

Depending on the purpose of your stay, which will be asked of you at immigration, you will be granted a 30, 90, or 180 day visa, free of charge.

Indians holding a valid US Green Card or a UK/EU Residence visa, traveling to Sharjah, will receive a 14-day on-arrival visa which costs 120 AED approximately. This is a standard process carried out by all Immigration departments in the UAE and they are advised to apply for this on arrival visa before they enter to Sharjah.

Prepaid Visa

All other passport holders who are not eligible for an on-arrival visa must obtain a prepaid visa prior to traveling to the UAE.

There are two type of prepaid visas; the single entry visa and the multiple entry visa.

Each visa type may be issued for either 30, or 60-days. The visa length of stay is issued depending on your requirements in Sharjah and the UAE.

When you apply for a prepaid visa to Sharjah, the prices are based on three aspects :

  • The duration you require for your stay
  • How quickly you want your visa issued
  • The ability to leave and re-enter Sharjah during your stay
